 #BurushoMaraka– is part of High Asia Media Group objective to promote the indigenous languages, wisdom folklore, music and culture. The programme is produced by High Asia TV. #BurushoMaraka , as the name reflects, is a space where we will talk and discuss with Burushaski native speakers about history, the transformation of society, politics, economy, education, health, arts and culture etc. It aims at highlighting issues and challenges faced by Burushaski speaking communities living across Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Pakistan and the globe. The program will also play its role in preserving and promoting #Burushaski language through various talks and discussions with the native speakers. i.e Elders, musicians, singers, poets, writers, researchers etc. #Burushaski, according to the #UNESCO‘s Atlas of languages, is one of the languages that is endangered. It is spoken in various parts of #GilgitBaltistan ans #Srinagar #Kashmir but majority of Burushaki speakers live in #Hunza, #Nagar and #Yasin valleys. Each valley has their own colour and dialect. The programme is hosted by #ZulfiqarAliKhan, who is a Burushaski language poet and activist. He hails from Hunza.
